About

Star Farm Pottery is a fancy name for a little clay studio tucked in the corner of our basement. We are in Richburg, SC. Star because we have a star at the end of our driveway. Farm because we are on 17 acres with a horse, a donkey, 7 hens, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and one goldfish. I am a newcomer to the pottery world. I took my first pottery class in 2019 at the Rock Hill Pottery Center. I was hooked after the first class. About 6 months later, I saw an ad for a wheel on Craigslist. Since then, I have been making pots at home, trying to learn via the internet. I share my space with my dear friend, Christi. She shares my excitement about learning this new craft. We bounce ideas off each other and create together.

My husband is very supportive of my new endeavors. He ignores the clay smudges all over the house, and is a good sport about my encroachment into his dark room, which now doubles as a glaze storage room. And the sink is in there….so it gets a bit messy! He also likes to mix glazes from scratch, so that helps a lot!

I am excited about this new creative venture, and hope to share it with you!
